Directions

Directions from Windhoek

Take the B1 through Okahandja. Take the turn-off D2483 to your left 70 km before Otjiwarongo. Drive 41 km gravel road and follow the signs.

Directions from Swakopmund

Take the B2 through Usakos, Karibib and Omaruru to Kalkfeld where the signs will lead you to Mount Etjo. 35 km gravel road after Kalkfeld.

Road conditions

During the rainy season (December - March), please note that the condition of our gravel roads may not be good. Especially when travelling in a smaller car without 4x4, we suggest that you call reception at +264 67 290 176 before departure.

The gravel road coming from Kalkfeld is usually in a better condition than the road coming from the B1.

Our advice: drive in the middle of the road where the ground is hardest - even though this means you will have to drive through water. If the water looks very deep, take off your shoes and test the depth before driving through.
